About

The Blind Project is a collective of passionate individuals uniting together, leveraging our unique talents to empower women rescued out of the commercial sex trade in Southeast Asia.
The Issue
The problem is clear. Right now millions of women and children are enslaved and exploited in the multi-billion dollar commercial sex trade.
Victims of the commercial sex trade are treated like meaningless commodities. They are sold and bought, resold and bought again. Often times even when women are rescued, many fall back into the trade because of limited resources, scarce economic opportunities and/or social stigmas.
Contributing Factors
There are a number of key contributing factors luring and confining victims into situations of sexual exploitation in all its forms:
- Abject poverty
- Inadequate employment opportunities
- Limited or no education
- Political, social and economic instability
- Organized crime
- Family instability and disintegration
- Gender discrimination
- Domestic abuse and violence
- Social stigmas
Our Inaugural Approach
The Blind Project is creating a sustainable style brand called Biographe, for those exploited by the commercial sex trade.
Biographe promotes the holistic restoration of victims, teaches them marketable job skills in fashion design and production, and employs them in a positive work environment while earning a living wage.
We exist for each girl. To tell her story. To write her a new story.
We are biographers.
Our Partners
We partner with multiple established local aftercare facilities in Southeast Asia to meet the physical, social, emotional and economic needs of women at all points of the commercial sex trade spectrum, from trafficking to prostitution. No woman who wants to change her life is turned away*.
* If our partner organizations accept women who are victims of rape or domestic violence we will not discriminate by preventing these women from being beneficiaries of TBP services.
